Heat It To Beat It is an event that helps to raise awareness, education, and funds for the Institute of Cancer Care at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, Md.
The event is a walk in which attendees, made up of survivors, their family, and friends, raise funds thru sponsors to help in bringing this treatment option to light. CRS & HIPEC are still considered experimental in a lot of places even though it has been around for a little over 2 decades. Patients often have to face a grim diagnosis and deal with insurance companies that do not approve the procedure.
