Bags of Hope Chemo Care Bags

2019 Donation

During chemo and beyond I was blessed with care packages and other goodies. These helped brighten my days and made this horrible situation a little easier to bear. I know that some of those going thru chemo may not have a good support system, insurance, or even a way to treat themselves and I wanted to be able to do something so I started Bags of Hope in 2017 as a way to give back to those fighting the good fight.

While this is not a non-profit group in terms of status, all of the proceeds still go into the bags. I do not keep any money from their sale. Each year I do a sponsorship of the Thirty-One Cinch Sacs when they are on Special. They are embroidered with a lavender ribbon (universal cancer ribbon color) and the word “Hope.”. I use my commission and any other donations after the sponsorship is over, as well as donations from some local companies and some very talented crocheters, knitters and sewers, to fill the bags! We deliver them to the cancer center where I had my chemo and new patients are the recipients. They are all usually given out within a week.

That is a lot of people with cancer. I wish no one would ever have to receive one of these bags.

If you would like to join us in giving back, please join Bags of Hope Chemo Care Bags to see how you can help!
